Our prepress system is state-of-the-art, with a Creo/Kodak Lotem Quantum thermal platesetter fronted with a Prinergy workflow system. The PDF workflow ensures file integrity throughout the process from proofing to plate making. By using a digital workflow this allows us to reduce or eliminate the need of chemistry in proofing and platemaking process. The Kodak proofing system which uses the Epson printer ensures colour correct high resolution imposed proofs for customer sign off. We also use low resolution colour laser proofs for content only as well as rendered pdfs from within the workflow for customer approval. The CTP (computer-to-plate) ensures the highest quality of the image that ultimately reaches the final product either as a traditional (AM) or a stochastic (FM) dot.

From single colour to multi colour with coatings, our press operators are here to help make your ideas come to life. Our 5 colour plus coater press with perfector is equipped with computer print control (CPC) which loads the ink profiles specific to the job direct from the prepress workflow. Automation of the plate loading and CPC has helped reduce the make ready time and the amount of paper required to get the press up to job specific colour density levels. The closed loop scanning of the colour bars helps maintain ink at predetermined density levels.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
At Printcraft we constantly look at our work where we can improve our quality and reduce our environmental footprint. Reduction is the first place we look when considering what changes we can make. We have eliminated the need for chemistry in our prepress department with the introduction of the Thermal Direct plates. We use linseed based inks in the printing process. Paper from the press department as well as office paper, cartons, plastics, plates and skids are all recycled. Over the last year we have cut waste produced at Printcraft in half.
We constantly consider where the paper is made and what goes into the production. Recycled content is one of the factors we consider when purchasing paper. Today a variety of paper can be easily chosen that helps protect our environment, from virgin fiber up to 100% post consumer recycled content and also FSC certified papers.
